Another year has flown right by and seen the introduction of a whole new bunch of Rachel’s Runners come to life, making way for a huge 2016 ahead and the beginning of something bigger.
On Saturday 12 December 2015, we held our final fun run for the year. This fun run saw the completion of our 9th successful round of our ever-popular ‘Learn to Run’ program for beginners. That’s 3 groups of runners per year for 3 years, already! When I started Rachel’s Runners in February 2013, I had no plan, just that I wanted to share my new found joy of running with others and help them see and experience the world a whole new way. Over 200 participants later, and RR is set to expand.
As of January 2016, we will be starting at a second location in South West Sydney and sharing the running love with a whole new community. This location in West Hoxton, will be run by one of previous ‘graduates’ Dannii and her friend Belinda. On top of this wonderful expansion news, Rachel’s Runners will now also be offering additional ‘Learn to Run’ coaching. If our Saturday morning sessions don’t fit in with your schedule or location, or you would prefer to train in a more individualised and personalised way, then our new ‘Your Pace and Place’ sessions are for you! Starting in 2016, if you are located in Sydney and surrounding suburbs, you can have a running coach come to you and help you go from non-runner/beginner runner or getting-back-into-it runner, to your first 5km, at a time and place that suits you. These sessions can accommodate individuals, or for a reduced fee if you get a few friends together we will also take small groups of runners (minimum of 3 participants).
As a part of this new service you will receive a one hour planning and goal setting session, weekly running sessions with an accredited running coach, access to our weekly online check in system to keep you on track and accountable, plus support and motivation from someone who has been in your shoes. The special thing about us at RR, is that we are all beginners just like you. Most of us only started running a few years ago, so we know exactly what it takes physically and mentally to get you out there and keep you going.
