One of the biggest and best events on the Australian trail running calender is Ultra Trail Auatralia. The atmosphere and camaraderie is second to none and once you take the plunge and get involved, it’s simply an event you cannot miss year after year. For the past few years, TeamRR has had a big presence at this iconic event, building our coaching group along the way, taking more and more peolpe to and through the event of their dreams. If you’ve wondered about the hype around UTA and been a bit intrigued as to whether you’d be able to do it, I am here to tell you YES YOU CAN! With entries opening mid September, the time to commit is RIGHT NOW and Rachel’s Runners will help you get there.

Who’s it for?
The beauty of UTA is that it’s for everyone! There are 4 distances available and you don’t even need to run to take part. Walkers, hikers, weekend warriors and even couch potatoes can get involved. There is something for every single person. With the right training, community, coaching and mindset, you can do it!
Why do it?
The spectacular scenery of the beautiful Blue Mountains, some of the biggest ‘hills’ you’ve ever seen, the most relentless staircases and the sense of absolute elation and achievement that you will experience when you cross that finish line, are but a few of the ‘whys’. Being part of one of the most amazing, supportive and non-competitive run clubs going just seals the deal.

What coaching options are available?
At Rachel’s Runners, we are all about the ‘everyday runner’ and showing people that they can do anything, so we have options for everyone, non-runners included. This year to make it even more accessible, we are offering a 10 week base building program for non-runners or people who have just started running, to get them ready to join our 18 week UTA coaching plan in 2022.
Base Build for New/Non-Runners – UTA2022
- What: 10 week program to get you ready for the UTA training block
- When: 1 November 2021 – 9 January 2022
- Where: Online – sessions can be done in your own location
- Cost: $120 which includes a Team RR head buff (part of the UTA mandatory gear) & $50 credit towards the RR UTA coaching program
- How: This coaching plan will be run online via closed Facebook group with weekly homework delivered each Sunday night for you to get done in your own time across the week.
- Prior experience needed: None!
Online Coaching groups – 11/22/50/100km UTA2022
- What: 18 week program to get you ready for UTA 2022
- When: 10 January 2022 – Event Day
- Where: Online – sessions can be done in your own location
- Cost: $200. Special deal: If paid before 30 Nov 2021, previous participants of RR UTA Coaching Groups will pay a discounted price of $150. (* Base build course participants pay $100 after $50 credit is applied if they pay early and are previous RR UTA coaching group participant. ** Non-previous RR UTA Coaching participants or those who do not do the base training will receive a FREE Team RR head buff).
- How: This coaching plan will be run online via closed Facebook group with weekly homework delivered each Sunday night for you to get done in your own time across the week.
- Prior experience needed: RR Base Build Program participant or previous UTA participant or regular everyday runner
