Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a registered nurse in the operating theatre of a busy Sydney hospital and love my job. I have no kids but am very involved in the lives of my Godchildren. I’m a cancer survivor and this year I’m 10 years in remission of Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Tell us a bit about you and running – How? When? Why?
Initially I started running to get fit and lose some weight, but also to prove to myself that I could do it.
What’s the best thing about running for you?
The social aspect – it’s great to run with friends and also a great way to keep fit.
What’s your favourite piece of running equipment?
To be honest I don’t really have one, but good shoes and a good sports bra are pretty much all you need.
What’s your biggest challenge with running?
My head gives up before my legs, so to keep going I need to overcome the mental barriers which is why I like running with friends because we encourage each other to get through and keep at it.
Any tips for fellow runners?
Stick at it and run with like-minded people because you can keep each other going!
